My fascination and curiosity on alcohol started almost a decade ago when I handled Heineken, Diageo and Pernod Ricard products during my Advertising career as Creative Director in different ad agencies in Asia Pacific region. From that experience I have learned to pair different alcohol on food and experimented on infusing them with the different meals I cooked for almost ten years.

After selling cupcakes the past months, I have hurdles of trying to let people understand on what I want to do with my food and my being a creative person with advertising background. Until one day I have found the picture of the famous Bompas & Parr in my hard drive from 7 years ago. Today the success of the duo creating food art transcended them to be globally recognised as the leading expert in multi-sensory experience design. They are my patron saints that serve as my inspiration of the things I want to do.

 

After that, I decided to experiment intensively on alcohol. To be specific, I focused on Beer and Cider this time since I already perfected the recipe of the crowd's favourite Chocolate Merlot and Lemon Chardonnay. There is a local brewery in Newton who generously supported me by providing me their products to experiment with and I am happy to say that I will use them on this event. There is also a foreign beer brand that I have discovered to be gluten-free and I'm thankful that they handed me a pack to experiment with and will be baking few pieces using this product for the gluten-free range.

I invite everyone to experience my new alcohol-inspired cupcake series along with my famous UBE (Purple Yam) cupcake. Ube cupcake will be accompanied with other specialty I have, like Custard Jam & Greek-inspired tarts. I will be selling all these goodies at the Tramsheds Artisan Market.
